AthleticFX Overview

AthleticFX is based on a concept known as "Multilateral Athletic Development" that incorporates multilateral training (Multi-skill)- focusing on fundamentalĀ attributes of coordination, agility,Ā strength, flexibility, speed and power along with varied sport-specific training. AthleticFX programs offer challenging exercises and movements leading to progressive growth in all areas of athletic skill and conditioning. It is geared toward young male and female athletes between the ages of 9-18, with programs designed to be age appropriate, safe, fun and challenging.

Like any great structure, athletic development must start with a solid foundation. Many complex issues of training are debated as athletes reach the levels of specialization and ultimately high performance; the need for a solid athletic foundation is not one of them. All future development depends on it. AthleticFX programs offer young athletes a blue print to athletic success that will lead an athlete toward his or her utmost potential.

 

AthleticFX Mission Statement

Improve athleticism to optimal performance levels and consequently enhance youth's enjoyment of fitness activities through a foundation that includes:

  • Overall fitness through multilateral training that focuses on fundamental skills
  • Enhance development of sport-specific skills
  • Effective multilateral training that addresses the fundamental skills that will develop a solid foundation, thus preparing a young athlete for a lifetime of fitness, making it easier for him or her to adapt to more demanding sport-specific training loads later in his or her athletic career.
  • Through a well designed multilateral training program, young athletes improve their coordination, which includes critical balance and agility skills: a well-coordinated athlete expends less energy for the same performance; moves more smoothly and quickly while changing direction; and is better able to maintain and control body position. This process allows an athlete to learn new sport skills with more ease.
  • Allowing an athlete to quickly and more efficiently adjust to the unpredictable circumstances of athletic competition.
 

AthleticFX Goals and Objectives

  1. To assist youths to better develop their total athletic capabilities through training programs that focus on fundamental skills of speed, agility, strength, flexibility, balance and coordination.
  2. Objectives

    • Introduce young athletes to a variety of skills through modified sports play and drills of several different sports.
    • Maximize natural ability at a young age.
    • Improve likelihood of participation at a high performance level later in the youth's athletic career by strategically matching sport and skill.
  3. To assist youths to better develop a more complete athletic foundation of a variety of sport-specific skills.
  4. Objectives

    • Provide athletes the opportunity to experience vigorous and progressive training that emphasizes movements necessary to develope a sound athletic foundation. By starting at a young age, this better adapts the body to respond to more intense training at a later age.
    • Encourage athletes to take responsibility for his or her own fitness.
    • Acquaint the athlete with fitness options that will serve as life-long, healthy lifestyle choices, including nutritional advice
